Frazetta Establishes His Museum, Endures Ellie’s Loss, and Bids Farewell.

2001

Frank was awarded with the World Fantasy Award—Life Achievement for artwork such as Conan “The Destroyer” and “The Death Dealer”. This same year Frank and Ellie opened The Frazetta Art Museum in East Stroudsburg, PA, located on their personal property.

2003

Frank was the subject of a comprehensive documentary, Painting with Fire.

2009

Frank’s wife Eleanor passed away from a long battle with cancer. This same year Kirk Hammett, the lead guitarist for Metallica, bought Frank’s cover artwork for the paperback reissue of Robert E. Howard's "Conan the Conqueror" for $1 million

2010

Frank passed away on May 10 2010 in his Boca Grande, Florida home.

The final work Frazetta touched was this 1970s National Lampoon painting right before he passed away in May 2010
