FRAZETTA ENTERS PROFESSIONAL WORLD WITH FIRST PUBLICATION

1942

Michele Falanga proved to be the perfect mentor for Frank. He planned to help Frank study abroad but unfortunately Michele passed away a few months before the proposed trip. Frank stayed at the Academy for a few more years following Michele’s passing.

1944

Bailey Comics hired Frank to be John Giunta's art assistant. Giunita was immediately impressed with Frank’s artwork and persuaded Bernard Bailey to publish a revised version of Frank’s personal comic strip titled,“Snowman.” The 7 page story appeared in TALLY HO #1. This was Frank’s first published work.

1946

Prize Publications gave Frank a chance to submit a solo story in TREASURE COMICS. The story; “Know Your America” was Frank’s first solo published work.

1947

Frank started working with Graham Ingels at Standard Comics. Between the years 1947 through 1950 he worked on 15 different titles. He began illustrating books like Judy of the Jungle, Barnyard, Coo Coo, Happy, Looie lazybones and Supermouse.

1948

The New York Giants (MLB) made Frank a professional offer for an outfield position but he declined due to the strenuous travel obligations.
