Becoming Frazetta: The Early Years of a Fantasy Master (Softcover)

THIS ITEM IS A PRE-ORDER

Before Frank Frazetta became a legend, he was a young artist growing up in Brooklyn. Becoming Frazetta explores the people, experiences, and early work that shaped one of fantasy art’s most celebrated painters.

Written by comics historian, publisher, and writer Michael Finn (The Liberty Brigade), this richly illustrated biography draws on unprecedented access to the Frazetta family and the archives of Bernard Baily’s publishing company. It brings together rare artwork, personal history, and dozens of unpublished pages Frank drew as a teenager.

Among these discoveries are more than fifty pages of artwork intended for what would have been his first published solo stories, had the company not gone bankrupt.

Featuring an introduction by Sara Frazetta, art analysis by Mark Schultz (Xenozoic Tales), and a foreword by Joe Mannarino of Heritage Auctions.

This softcover edition is published by Frazetta Girls Publishing, in collaboration with and under license from Thrilling Nostalgia Comics.
