About the Artwork

Frank Frazetta’s Woman with Scythe, created circa 1971, first appeared on the cover of Vampirella #11. The composition sets a scythe-bearing woman against a turbulent fantasy landscape, combining horror imagery with Frazetta’s dramatic movement and color. The raised arm and sweeping scythe create a strong diagonal through the scene. The artwork was later reused for the cover of CREEPY #91.
